Baby Born Free
Baby Laughing
This baby was born free of the effects of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs.
Not all babies are so lucky.
Half of all women who might become pregnant are drinking alcohol. Half of all pregnancies are unplanned.
Do the math.
Alcohol does more damage to the developing baby than any other substance.
Every year, thousands of babies are born with diagnosable Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.
Only 16% of these babies will have mental retardation that will qualify them for disability services.
Almost all of these babies will have mental health issues when they are older.
Most children with FASD have normal intelligence and normal appearance.
All will have brain damage resulting in learning disabilities and behavior problems.
Without appropriate intervention services, most of these individuals
will have problems in school, employment, relationships, and life.

"If you are pregnant, don’t drink.
If you drink, don’t get pregnant."
